Setting the Date

Postby vtalbot » Sun Sep 05, 2010 9:46 pm

Hi all,

I am considering getting married in September next year but am concerned that the date might note suit many of my guests because of the school year. Has anyone else had trouble with this?

I have gone for October bank holiday weekend to accomodate school people, but what I find about weddings during term time is that people who really want to be there will be, and as long as you give ppl plenty of time and plenty of notice it shouldnt cause any problems! Just be prepared for people complaining closer to the time of the wedding, especially if it is a weekday wedding rather than a saturday or sunday!

Eaxactly, if your heart is set on a date or the venue you want is only available certain dates then go for it, even if you have it in the summer, ppl will complain they have to work their holidays around it. You will never please everyone, as long as you (and your partner) are happy with it, then go for it, if you try to please everyone, it wont be your wedding anymore!
