Wedding Favours ... Or Not?

Postby AislingC » Sun Jul 11, 2010 2:50 pm

Hey All,

I'm on two minds whether to get wedding favours for the dinner tables at our reception. Not sure if they are noticed much or taken away with the guests....and the costs can add up. We've 160 on the invite list so 130 will probably attend. Will you provide wedding favours or not? Majority rules on this one :D Thanks!

You can order little italian chocolates called "Bacci" on line. Think it means Kisses. They each have a little love note inside. One at each place setting would cost next to nothing and it would be a nice touch

Great thanks, yes it is nice to have something on the tables and at least they can eat them with a cuppa after dinner! I suppose I visiting soooooo many wedding favour sites and got carried away with what you can do, lost sight of just getting a simple token, which wont break the bank! Thanks again :-)

Hi Aisling

I would love to provide flower seeds or something like that, but my budget is saying no. So I am not doing favours.

I'd say we'll not bother about favours. They're an added expense that I'd say will just get left on the table. If we had endless money we'd prob go for it coz they look pretty on the tables! :D

Sometimes the simplest thing is the best, you can do soo much now it is easy to get carried away, h2b sis had a wedding of 250 ppl and she went back to the traditional favour of matches, was lovely and very simple!
Counting down to October 27th 2012 - the day I will marry my best friend

Ohh i love the chocolate idea but then i would need to keep them outta my way in the lead up to the wedding - choco addict!!!

I think a nice idea for wedding favours are wee book marks.

You can make them yourselves if you buy good quality paper in a stationary shop have a nice poem and a message from you and h2b - punch a hole in the top of it and tie a ribbon on it - i think it would be lovely. Fair enough some people would not want book marks but alot would - its a nice thought and inexpensive - Downside though - ya cant eat it like the italian chocolates mmmmm
